Continued

I should have known I wouldn't let myself get away with only two Easter pictures.  We had so many cute ones that day, so here they are.
You have been warned.
Wardrobe change into the Crocs, from the pretty sandals = play time!

Georgia "helping" cousin Shep with his animal crackers, haha!

Love'n Life

Things are good and things are busy.
But we are loving life right now.  It's almost summer and it already feels like it is.
So here is what we've been up to since April 14!

April 15:
Rehearsal and Dinner for this amazing lady in white, not to mention spending the whole weekend with one the BEST and it was amazing!

April 16:
One of the most awesome couples got married, and we all celebrated,
source
and my superman made it on 4 hours of sleep,
source
 "HEY LAURA!"
source
April 23:
Georgia's friend, Essie, had her first birthday party!  Essie is two days younger than Georgia so it's so special for them to get to be at these special occasions for each other.

April 24:
Georgia's first Easter.  And it was so sweet!  Church with the Vincent Grandparents and the picnic lunch at Alhambra Hall in Mt. Pleasant.

The weather was amazing and Georgie loved the Easter eggs! Is is wrong that we still pull them out everyday to play with them? Don't worry, they're plastic.

April 25:
GEORGIA TURNED ONE!!!

April 30:
Cute little munchkin has the start of an ear infection ... insert a big 'ol sad face right here.

May 3:
The worst day of the ear infection.  Does somebody look ridiculously sleep?

There are just too many cute Easter pictures, so I'm doing another post

Cruise'n

This crazy curly headed Bean has learned how to WALK!
And I couldn't be more proud of her!  She is so precious toddling through out the house.
I just love her!

In a nutshell

I'm not really sure where this past few weeks have gone so I'm just going to wrap it up...

March 12
Baby Shower for the sweetest Emily on the planet! I love her and her baby so much.  I can't wait to meet Baby Y!  She did a post on her blog, so I'll let her do the talking {just know the feelings are ditto!}
March 18-20
We celebrated this Q-te in white getting married on April 16! Another trip to SSI?  Don't mind if I do!
I could not say enough about Laura.  She is by far one of the most incredible people I've ever met.  I cannot wait to be a part of her wedding!

The same weekend, Jason took Georgie to Sumter to visit her cousin Shep!  Yes, he is 11 1/2 months older than her...

March 22
Three days before Georgia hits the 11 month mark!
The weather got so nice that we've been trying to be outside as much as possible lately.
I wish I had this in video.  G was dancing back and forth the whole time.  She loves being on Da-da's shoulders!

And, she's way to busy for mom's kisses...

March 25
We { I } celebrated Bird & Branch being 6 months & Georgie being 11 months!!!!  with a fun trip to Ikea!

March 27
Then the sick baby junk set in... and let me just say, I wouldn't wish a sick baby on my WORST enemy (... if I have any).  Ok, and I'm not bragging, I promise, but Georgia is such a good sleeper.  When we put her down around 8ish she doesn't wake up until about 7.  That's every night.  So when she started waking up at night whining, we knew something wasn't right.  Anyway, after 3 sleepless nights and a fever that spiked to 103.1, we took G to the ER to get checked out at 1am.  We got home at 6 am with three negative results for pneumonia, UTI, and the flu.  But, as thankful as we were...it still doesn't help us figure out why in the world she had a fever that high.

Monday was no better, except the fever never got that high again, but Jason and I still weren't satisfied.  Thankfully, we're super annoying first time parents that insisted on calling the doctor again to let them know something still wasn't right and we needed to come see them, AGAIN!  Well we took her back yesterday, they did tests on her for strep, mono, etc. they found out that her white blood cell count was too high so we took her back for an antibiotic shot. she slept much better last night and woke up without a fever now! so yay!
Prayers are always welcomed in this household!

So, yeah, that's our life the past few weeks!  I really am going to try to get better about not waiting 2 weeks between posts... "try" being the key word.

Product Thursday

I've decided that us lady's need to help each other out.  Men have tons of website to read about electronics, guns, fishing equipment, bikes, etc., etc., etc.
But I feel like women are different.  We want a first hand opinion on what our firend's, cousin's, sister's thought about a product.  Not to mention if we can learn from someone elses mistake, how great is that!
Ok, all that to say every now and then i might start posting a product that i LOVE or hate, just in case I might be helping someone out!
First up, the dreaded sippy cup!
I've been through 3.  Playtex was one, and I can't remember the other two off the top of my head, but they're in the garbage.  That's right, I didn't even save them for back ups.
Georgia has used Dr. Brown's bottles since the day she was born and we've had great success.  Some mom's don't like them because of "all the parts" but we loved them!  The parts really weren't an issue if that's all you ever know.  So when I read that Dr. Brown's also made sippy cups....SWOON!
I have seriously loved this thing.  NO leaks, NO spills, NO breaking.  I never thought I could love a sippy cup this much, but I do!

Hope this really helps somebody!
Oh and happy St. Patty's Day!

Mommy Time

Two weekends ago I had a fun little Trunk Show with two of the best girls I know!  We had an absolute blast and I can't wait to do another one.  But I had two little guest travel with me...
How sweet are these two?!
Then mommy's little lady had to help her shop on King Street (in her skinny jeans, non the less).
Love them!

16 Days?

Has it really been that long since I have blogged on our family page? Good grief...
If you ever want to keep up with what I am doing you can always visit Bird & Branch Redesign (which by the way, if you follow me on this blog, you should really click over and follow me on my other blog!)
But I just wanted to do a little update!

Sweet Georgie has 8 teeth now...yes E.I.G.H.T!

She had her first tasting of vanilla ice cream this past weekend and it was a HUGE hit!

We found out she isn't allergic to milk when she accidentally chugged a juice cup of whole milk from another little boy (another 'yay' that she likes milk),

Grass in the toes is just as fun as sand (which makes her mom a happy lady),

And outside is her favorite place to be!

The curls are becoming ferocious,

And she is really starting to talk up a storm!

10 months

Ok, I will be posting a better 10 month post, but I had to let it be known!  Our little one is only 2 months away from being O-N-E!!!!!!!!!!!  (holy-moly, i need to breathe)  One word, three times:
progress, progress, progress
Georgia now...
...has 6 teeth! four on top and two on bottom with two more on the bottom working their way up
...crawls!  But the thing is that she only crawls when she wants some where to pull up.  She can sure motor, but she just wants to pull up and walk.
...talks up a storm
...laughs like crazy
...loves being chase around the coffee table (video to come on that one)
...and you can tell she's really starting to understand what we say to her.

I just love her!
She's sick right now and it makes for two sad parents, but she's a trooper!

SSI

I can't express my love for St. Simons Island enough!  So I won't sit here and babble about how beautiful and prefect it is.  Or how we've been going there for the better portion of my life, or how many memories that place holds.
....no, I won't go into all that...
But we had a nice little family get away planned and as nice as it was down there and how wonderful it was to get away JUST THE THREE OF US...jason got sick....then Georgie started too...great. But we did enjoy our time togther and let the bean put her toes in that wonderful SSI sand.

It's Offical

My sweet little Bean has her moma's curly hair.  I think I'm excited about this because baby curls are the cutest things EVER!  But I am also already sympathizing with her because I know what the middle school and high school years hold for her... a lot of trial and error with a hair dryer and a straightener
I just adore this sweet hair...mmmmuah!
.....at this moment I'm trying to find a not so horrible picture of me from high school (middle school pictures are out of the question!!!).....
Note: I have cropped out others b/c it's not my place to embarrass them the way i'm embarrassing myself.

9th
Could my hair have poofed anymore?  And you can't see it, but I have on a hemp necklace...
 10th
Homecoming...oh sweet homecoming
 11th
I seemed to have taken a few steps back in progression this day.  But I did have my nails 'did' for homecoming the next day...
 12th
Not the greatest pic, but at least you can tell it's getting a little better still
 Graduation:
Rained all day, and although I would have loved to have straightened my hair...I had to let the curls flow
ok, ok... here's one from middle school

I hope my embarrassment contributed to your great weekend!

A Day Late

Ok, so FIVE days late.  But I have to share a sweet little moment from Valentine's Day.
Jason got his girls flowers!
The white ones are for our little one and the red ones are for his main squeeze*
It was just really sweet b/c my dad always did something like this for me and my mom.  I just love that Jason did too.  so special!
Happy LATE V-Day!

Thanks

I was so refreshed and so thankful at the words of encouragement I receieved from my post about anxiety.  The comments, texts, and voicemails I got were so needed and appriciated and I honestly feel rejuvinated!  I've actually caught myslef saying "It is what it is" a LOT.  Those of you that know me well know I get stuck on phrases in phases (say that three times fast): "SHUT UP!" or "I'm just saying..." or the worst one ever was "you BRAT!" if somebody got to do something I didn't.  (My friend, Anna, cringed everytime I said that one.)  But I think I found a new one

"It is what it is"

Again, thank yall for you sweet, sweet words!
Plus I figured out a way to make blogging easier on me.  I can actually send pictures from my phone to my blog album, so although you might not be seeing too many 'quality' pictures from me at least you'll see pictures!

Let's Talk About...

...Anxiety, Baby!   It's beyond ridiculous how much anxiety I have placed on myself until May.  I did it.  I basically asked for it.  And I got it.  I honestly don't know how some people do it.
I want to make something very very clear before I continue.  This is NOT a complaining post or a pity-party post.  This is simply a "what's on my mind today" post.
I feel like as much as I'm trying not to listen, the Lord is yelling at me.  I've taken on so many different things for the next few months, but I keep telling myself, "everybody is this busy".  Well... in the past week I have read at least three separate blogs talking about slowing down life.  Talking about not having to 'have it all together'.  Talking about their imperfectly messy home. Talking about not having time to do everything by themselves.  Talking about 'do what you can and don't worry about the rest'.  So this is why I think the Lord is yelling at me.  But, I don't listen.  I've always had a hard time listening.  I didn't want to listen to my parents or my teachers, I'm still learning how to listen to my husband (yes, I'm ashamed of this), and I definitely do not always want to listen to the Lord.
Here is the dumb part... I KNOW I SHOULD!  My life would be 10x easier if I could just listen.
I'm a Martha (no, I'm not referring to myself as a martha stewart).  For the past two months the story of Mary & Martha from Luke 10:38-42 has been weighing on me like a 2 ton elephant (I have no idea how much an elephant weighs).  I'll say it again, I'm a Martha.  I run around making sure I get everything accomplished and then make sure everything looks right and it's physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausting.  I have friends who are a Mary and I adore them.  I adore their ability to let things be.  I adore their ability to just want to sit and listen, and "be still, and know that He is God", not me.
At the end of the day, I know I have no control over this world, but this is a very hard concept for me to grasp.  I love my life, I honestly do, but sometimes it's very hard to tell b/c of how busy I keep myself.  I think I've got to juggle 54 different things at one time...and I don't.
This has actually felt really good to type all of this out.  I had to let it go in some capacity.  I don't know if this has even helped anybody else reading it, but it's helped me.
One thing I am going to stop doing is editing dern (southern for darn) pictures for this blog.  I can't do it.  And it's pointless, b/c most of the pictures are of Georgia anyway, and she is precious the way she is!
One thing I am going to focus on is Bird & Branch.  I have loved it more than I ever thought I would and it's actually expanding a little.  Check out my website and see what's going on!
I am trying to fully embrace this season of being out of balance and just grow from it.
I love you, Jason,
and
Love you all!

Thankful Thursday

The ever-so-cute Julia from Black Tag Diaries has decided to make her Thankful Thursday posts in to a linky party.  Every Thursday she lists some things that she is thankful for so I'm going to join in on this little party.
...........................................................................
Today I am thankful for:

1} My healthy child!  I feel like I keep reading on facebook how many little little kids are really sick or even in the hospital right now from this Flu.  I'm so glad we've been able to keep Georgia Bean from it so far.  But we will continue praying for this wonderful health!

2} This beautiful (inside and out) couple coming to spend the night with us on their journey to Charleston.  They are so special to both Jason and me.  They have actually been away for quite some time; a year in Romania and now they're on their way back from Colorado.  They are the reason Jason and I even met.  So yes, I am very thankful for these two.

Check Up

I have a MAJOR love-hate relationship with Georgia's doctors appointments.  Thankfully we've only had wellness check ups (with the exception of one).  And I really and truly thank the LORD for that!
I love them, because I get to hear those two magic words come out of the doctor's mouth: "She's perfect."  You just never know...ya know!?  For anybody on their first kid, I hope you're agreeing with me, but if not...well...just don't read anymore.
But you just read what you can read in books and on the internet and hope you're best is the best.  You don't really know if they're growing at a normal rate, developing at a normal rate, doing LIFE at a normal rate...until those wellness check ups.  So, yes, I absolutely adore the moment I walk in, tell our doctor way more than she needs to know, and hear those two wonderful words.
Then I hate it, because at the end of each appointment she has gotten a shot in her sweet little kissable, hugable, lovable thigh {insert sad face here}and it just kills me to see her cry because she's in pain...I hear this never gets easier though.
So needless to say, I didn't get a picture today.
But she's a tall 29 1/2 inches (98%)
and has only gained 1 pound at 23.14 lbs. (93%)
She's perfect!

Happenings

I have many random things to share today...but that's the point of a blog right?!
First of all, my brother got the most adorable puppy you've ever seen!
His name is copper and he is a chocolate lab. I will own one of these one day (mark my words).

A few weeks ago, when I mentioned our little road trip and having the new car seat, we were headed to the beautiful Beaufort, SC, where Jason's parents live.  It was much needed family time with aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and even the cousin-in-the-oven!  Yep, Georgie is going to have another cousin to play with and actually they just found they're having boy #2!!! We are so excited for them and I just can't wait to meet this new little baby on June 6!
So this past weekend was gorgeous! It was unseasonably warm; sun shining-birds singing-people walking-WARM!  So I made the decision that my girl and I were going to be outside as much as possible.  Now, as much as I love our stroller, sometimes when your by yourself it just seems unnecessary. Unnecessary b/c getting in and out of stores is harder and b/c I feel like we're hanging out together a little more when I'm holding her.  So this weekend...I RE-DISCOVERED THE SLING!!!
It was incredible!  I haven't used it in months b/c she doesn't lay in our arms anymore!  But it works like a dream and the Bean LoVeD it!  I snapped a quick shot with my phone before we headed out.
And then another quick pic with the phone because her Grandpa wanted a picture with all four of her teeth showing!
My gosh, I love this girl!
That's all, I think...
happy Wednesday!
